Problem: Indian education system is disconnected from Indian Industry. Indian education system PREVENTS children from asking questions. It kills inquisitiveness. It simply negates and ignores the 8th Fundamental Duty as stated under Artilce 51A, which is - It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to develop the scientific temper, humanism and spirit of enquiry and reform. Ground reality is - Degree engineers are not worth deployment in the industry unless trained and groomed for at least an year, actually much more. Skill India programs are too late, and are like putting fertilizer on dead seed, since the seed of inquisitiveness was crushed long long back ! Skill India programs are too primitive. Please verify under which program is DFM covered ? Direction: India is a country where education starts in the mother's womb - remember Chakra Vyuh knowledge that Abhimanyu received from his father Arjun !! Solution: I am an engineer with 14 patents on my name. I turned myself into an Innovation Catalyst to nurture innovation skills in Industry and Institutions. I propose to create a department to cater to 8th Fundamental Duty. This department shall be under two ministries - Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Education. I propose NO change in our education system or syllabus. I have several ideas of bringing Innovation and skills to students by merely changing their habits, keeping said Fundamental Duty in mind. I shall simply create bridges between academics and Industry. Some may argue that they already exist, in which case I shall fortify them. Not disclosing entire implementation program here. Measure of Success: In order to understand the gravity of the problem, one should compare number of patents filed by China and India every year. Isn't it unbelievable that we are falling behind every year by more than 100,000 patent, year after year after year! So, this shall be our measure of success - Number of patent applications filed each year. As an engineer, I know that this initiative does NOT need funds or infrastructure from Government. I have a single point agenda - Make India Innovative. It shall address all other issues. regards Dr.D
